MUSIC STUDENTS COMPETE IN COMPETITIONS
Earlier this month, about 60 of our music students competed at the Launceston Competitions. They did an outstanding job representing Punchbowl, and the skills children learn from this whole preparation to culminating performance not only assist in their musical intelligences, but also enhances other intelligences as well. They are also learning the skills of setting and achieving goals, fulfilling a commitment, improving concentration and not giving up in the face of adversity. Other benefits may include making new friends and building persistence skills. The Grade 3-6 Choir was a tough section with lots of schools competing. They certainly held their own in this toughly contested category and the Grade 3-6 Recorder Group won 1st with their rendition of In the Bleak Midwinter. A great result for Punchbowl.
